Melissa Escobar

Melissa’s story is deeply rooted in family, resilience, and community. Born and raised in Boulder, Colorado, she grew up surrounded by the strength and love of her family, with roots extending to Zacatecas, Mexico, on her mother’s side and El Salvador on her father’s side. As the daughter of parents who immigrated to the United States in the 90s, Melissa developed a deep appreciation for the courage, sacrifice, and determination that shape so many immigrant families. Her personal connection to immigration is at the heart of the work she does. Melissa understands firsthand how overwhelming and emotional the immigration process can be, and she brings that understanding into every client interaction. She is empathetic, communicative, thoughtful, and a fierce advocate for the clients she supports.

Melissa joined Novo Legal to be part of a mission that aligns closely with her values: advocating for immigrant rights and helping families feel seen, heard, and supported during some of the most important moments of their lives. Her warmth, dedication, and ability to connect with people make her a tremendous asset to Novo Legal’s removal defense team.

Outside of work, Melissa is happiest when she is spending time with family and friends or playing soccer in leagues across Boulder and Denver. Whether she is on the field or supporting clients through their legal journey, Melissa brings heart, energy, and determination to everything she does.
