Novo Legal Group files lawsuit against DHS for Illegal Denial of Residency
Yesterday, three parents of US citizens filed a law suit against the Department of Homeland Security for unlawfully denying their applications for legal permanent residency. Each of these individuals entered the US with a visa and waited nearly 20 years before applying for legal permanent residency. Despite their clear eligibility for permanent residence, DHS wants them to wait OUTSIDE the US for another 10 years before they will approve the applications. These parents of Americans are seeking declaratory and injunctive relief in order to stop DHS from continuing their unlawful actions. If successful, the individuals will help pave the way for thousands of other immigrants to apply for permanent residency.
