Associate Attorney

Shama brings a deep commitment to community building and advocacy to her role at Novo Legal.  She was selected as a Presidential Management Fellow, Class of 2023, under the Biden administration, serving with the Federal Aviation Administration in Air Traffic Regulations, where she supported regulatory compliance and policy development to advance aviation safety, after clerking for the Hon. Bridget A. Stecher in the civil division of NJ Superior Court. 

Previously, she completed a fellowship at the Wilf Institute for Public Impact Legal Work, leading research on special education grants shared between Bureau of Indian Education schools and public schools across the country. She also served as the ABA Janet D. Steiger Fellow with the Delaware Attorney General’s Office, focusing on consumer protection, and now sits on the Council for the ABA’s Government and Public Sector Lawyers Division.

The daughter of two immigrants, Shama brings a personal understanding of access and equity to her practice. In her free time, she advocates for artists and their digital rights, reflecting her ongoing dedication to empowering underrepresented voices through the law
